Today’s video will focus on the final pallet inverter we offer at premier: the roll and coil upender. Otherwise known as 90 degree tippers, these machines are great for upending steel coils and paper rolls.

Our 90 degree tippers are most commonly used for upending paper rolls and steel coils. This makes it much easier to tip rolls over onto their sides before unwinding and tip steel coils to their “core vertical” positioning for transportation on pallets. In a more general use, these tippers can be used to turn any large and heavy object in your production process over.

Depending on the upender model chosen, loads up to 33,000 lbs. can be tipped using this machine. Complete with a self-contained hydraulic power pack and push-button control, these upenders are extremely safe and easy to use, and built to last.

There are three general types of roll upenders that can be custom built to your needs. The first type can be loaded either at floor-level with a pallet truck or a raised height with a forklift and will then tip to the other position, which makes it perfect for rolling paper rolls and coils off at floor level after being upended. The second type is loaded and unloaded at a raised height only but has a much higher load capacity. The third type tips to floor level on both ends, with one side flush to the floor and the other side utilizing a ramp. Building a pit is not necessary for this tipper to work and it can handle loads of up to 2,750 lbs. The third type of upender is the most popular model in use today.

Step 1. Place the steel coil or paper roll onto the machine

Step 2. Press the button and watch as your load is upended

Step 3. Remove the load from the tipper

And that’s all there is to it! This upender is quick and very easy to use for tipping loads around your warehouse!
